Nicole Conn Films Global – Mission Statement

Nicole Conn Films Global was born out of necessity — and conviction.

After witnessing the steady erosion of meaningful film festival platforms and the increasing tokenization of LGBTQ+ stories within the mainstream, we recognized that integration alone was not enough. Representation without authenticity comes at a cost. And too often, that cost is the dilution of our voices.

Our mission is clear:
To build and sustain a powerful, independent film library of stories BY women, FOR women, and ABOUT women — with a particular commitment to authentic lesbian storytelling — while expanding our reach to audiences everywhere who value emotionally rich, character-driven cinema.

We believe in the enduring truth that We Are Stronger Together.
Together, we create films FOR us, BY us — and now, for all who seek stories grounded in truth, courage, and heart.

More Than a Platform — A Global Creative Community

Nicole Conn Films Global is not simply a distribution site or subscription service. It is a living, evolving community — a global family of artists, supporters, creatives, and passionate viewers.

Our members are not customers. They are collaborators.

Through bi-monthly Zoom gatherings, behind-the-scenes access, and direct communication, our community remains actively involved in the life cycle of each project — from research and development through production and release. Members gain access to information no one else sees: early concepts, pitches, casting considerations, creative direction, and strategic planning.

We actively invite participation from those who long to be part of something creative. Whether through feedback, artistic contribution, on-set involvement, or strategic support, we provide meaningful opportunities to engage.

This is a place where women who want to create — but may not yet have had the doorway — find one.

Why a New Model Was Necessary

Independent filmmaking, especially in the women-centered and LGBTQ+ space, requires extraordinary labor with delayed — and often uncertain — financial return.

Filmmakers today must not only write and direct, but also develop, finance, crowdfund, produce, market, design, distribute, and manage every operational detail of their companies. Months — sometimes years — pass before any revenue is realized. Even after distribution, recoupment is delayed by expenses and licensing structures.

This model is unsustainable if we want consistent, high-quality films that center women’s lives.

So we chose innovation over scarcity.

Inspired by the idea that necessity fuels invention, we created a Hybrid Funding Model designed to empower both creators and community members.

The Hybrid Funding Model

Our funding structure offers four flexible pathways for involvement:

Cash-for-Credits Participation
Investment Opportunities

This allows each individual to support women’s cinema in a way that aligns with their personal capacity and goals.

This is not a transactional subscription asking, “What do I get?”
This is a commitment to sustaining women’s art globally.

By participating, members help ensure the creation of powerful, emotionally resonant films every 18–24 months — while also engaging in the creative journey behind them.

A Creative Ecosystem

Nicole Conn Films Global is also committed to uplifting artists across disciplines. We seek to spotlight composers, musicians, actors, designers, writers, photographers, and emerging filmmakers within our network.

If you are a photographer, submit your portfolio.
If you are a composer, send your work.
If you are a writer, contribute reviews or commentary.
If you are producing art in your city, we want to amplify you.

We reject the scarcity mindset that has historically limited women’s creative leadership. There is not “room for one.” There is room for all of us.

Through partnerships with other respected organizations and cross-promotional efforts, we aim to build an interconnected ecosystem of support — one that strengthens the entire community rather than competing within it.

Our Core Belief

There is a vast global audience of women whose stories deserve depth, dignity, and visibility. There is a generation of artists whose voices deserve amplification. And there is a community ready to participate in building something sustainable, meaningful, and lasting.
