Nicole Conn Films Global was created in response to witnessing the massive deterioration in the film festivals as well as our LGBTQ+ stories becoming token in the mainstream. We wanted integration and we got it – but it may come at the high cost of OUR Authentic digital content creation. Our mission is to continue to grow our Library – by adopting the old adage which is even more true today – We are Stronger Together! And Together we will create product FOR us, BY us, AND now for ALL OF YOU!
This is more than just a site, tho. It’s a community. The members are Family in the truest since of the word. We have bi-monthly zoom chats with our family to keep everyone abreast of the projects, but also to involve our members in the creative endeavors they wish to pursue. So many women we hear from want to be involved in something creative and this gives them that opportunity.
We also give Members all the info no one else gets about projects, inside scoop, access to our Pitches, etc.
The women’s programming of Festivals has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with women attending theaters more often than attending mainstream films. To address this issue, the festival is partnering with other women’s production companies and creating the IMDB for Lesbians, a central spot for all Lesbian TV shows, films, series, and web-series. Filmmakers have had to learn to do everything for nothing, including developing, funding, crowdsourcing, shooting, fixing, and marketing their films. However, there is no financial return on labor-intensive work until the film is sold or licensed, and distributors often take all expenses against putting the film out there. To address this, the festival offers a new way for the community to be involved in their film library, providing them with ownership and quality films. Conn, a mother of two with a son and daughter, is currently writing the script for her next feature, do we not grieve.
